Ethiopia #1

Our family has been on a 19th month journey to adopt an infant from Ethiopia. We are so thankful to have the opportunity to increase our family with a child God knew from the begining was ours. Baby Opia has been in our prayers for a long time, and now it seems to be very close to receiving our referal from Gladney.

Ephesians 1:5

He predestioned us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance to his pleasure and will.

As God adopts us when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, we should be in prayer concidering how we can bring adoption into our physical families. I thank God for reaching down and saving me from my sin. I now have a hope and purpose for being alive. I am here for God's glory and not my own.

The Woods Came Alive

Our house sits in the South part of Tyler Tx on 1.3 acres designed to be a kids dream park. Our kids enjoy seeing and playing with there cousins from Allen Tx, on the holidays. It is a pleasure to be able to host such a large family. Hunter leads the pack with his excitement to explore the outdoors to hunt anything that moves. A creek runs along our property line that attracts the kids like honey does bees. It always brings a smile to my face hearing the stories of how "I slipped and fell in". A tree-house was built for Hunter a couple of years ago that Baby Tiger, aka: Preston, has made his own. If he is not nailing something to the side of it, He is throwing something from it. Ann has found her fun bouncing up and down on the Pogo swing. As I watch and observe these kids at different stages of life, I hope they never forget running free in the outdoors whithout any worries in life.
We found ourselves gathered with friends and family ready to give Thanks for our Thanksgiving Lunch. Turkey prepared, mouth-watering dressing, green beans, salads, fresh rolls, and many pies to follow. The ladies in my life sure know how to cook. The atmosphere was amazing. Conversations taking over the silence, football on TV, and the kids were back in the yard, this Thanksgiving is truly a blessing. The sun set and the cards came out. We played a game of scummies that put us all in stitches. It was a nice evening of cards, followed by a Texas win over A&M.
The family soon went back where they came from. The house was straighted, dishes were cleaned, kids were cleaned and the house soon fell asleep. Waking to the silence, I knew I had to return to the hustle and bustle of a black Friday. I love this time of year that we celebrate our family, friends, and most of all our Lord Jesus Christ.
